Leicht über Linz

The festival for contemporary music "Leicht über Linz" organised by the Institute for Composition, Conducting and Computer Music at the Anton Bruckner Private University was initiated in 2016 by Carola Bauckholt in collaboration with Michael Hazod from the International Society for Contemporary Music Upper Austria, and has been showcasing the diverse work of contemporary composers every year since then. International ensembles are guests and joint projects are realised and performed in interdisciplinary collaboration with the institutes, such as IDA, JIM or ALT. So far, students have been able to work with Ensemble Asamisimasa (Oslo), Airborne Extended (Vienna), Schlagquartett Köln, Ensemble Phase (Vienna), Vocalsolisten Stuttgart, Nimikry (Vienna), Ensemble Schallfeld (Graz), Delirium Ensemble (Basel) and Ensemble Lizard (Linz). The orchestral format with the Horchester, conducted by Christoph Cech, and the Bruckner Orchestra, conducted by Marcus Poschner, was also offered. The festival's composers in residence to date have been Michael Maierhof, Trevor Wishart, Jaap Blonk, Trond Reinholdtsen and Clara Iannotta. Since its foundation, the festival has been broadcasted internationally through radio programmes (Deutschlandfunk, Ö1), video presence (see link) and reviews (MusikTexte, FreiStil).
