The Bruckner Alumni Network of Anton Bruckner Private University (ABPU) supports the networking of former and current university members and offers opportunities for professional exchange or further education as well as the valuable exchange of experiences between current students and Employee / Staff members with the Alumni.

For the administration of the network and the organization and implementation of events, processing of personal data is necessary, of course only to the extent required for this purpose. With this data protection information, the Bruckner Alumni Network provides transparent information about its processing activities.

Categories of personal data

The following categories of personal data may be processed in the course of Bruckner Alumni Network activities: name, title, address, contact details (phone/mobile number, email - private and ABPU), study-related information, relation to ABPU, event attendance, payment information, bank details, audio/video recordings and image recordings at events.

Data collection

The collection of personal data takes place on the one hand directly from the data subjects and on the other hand the Bruckner Alumni Network receives information from the ABPU.

  • Data collection directly from the data subject
    The processed data are obtained directly by the data subject (e.g. in the course of registration in the Bruckner Alumni Network) or they arise in the course of membership (e.g. participation in events).
     
  • Data is lawfully provided by the ABPU.
    The Bruckner Alumni Network receives the personal data of first-year students from the ABPU after the end of the enrollment period of the respective semester. These are: name, title, e-mail address, address, telephone, field of study and instrument.

Purpose of use

The Bruckner Alumni Network processes the personal data for the purpose of membership administration and carrying out the association's activities (e.g. organizing events) as well as for the purpose of prescribing and settling any subsidies.

In addition, the Bruckner Alumni Network sends out regular information about the association.

During events, video/audio recordings and/or image recordings may be made, which might be published on the homepage of the Bruckner Alumni Network, in social media channels or other (print) media for the purpose of public relations.

Lawfulness of processing

The processing is based on legitimate interests of Bruckner Alumni Network and the legitimate interests of Anton Bruckner Private University (point (f) of Article 6(1) GDPR) for the purpose of promoting the graduates as well as on the basis of the law of associations (point (c) of Article 6(1) GDPR). In the case of a supporting membership, the processing activities are based on point (b) of Article 6(1) GDPR for the fulfillment of a contract.

Data subjects have the right to lodge a justified objection to the processing based on legitimate interests at any time in terms of Article 21 GDPR. An objection to the processing activities would deprive the Bruckner Alumni Network of the lawfulness of processing. Consequently, it would no longer be possible to contact the member and the membership would therefore have to be terminated.

Unsubscribing from the Bruckner Alumni Network is possible at any time by sending an e-mail to alumni@bruckneruni.at.

Storage period

Generally the personal data are stored until the termination of the membership or until the expiry of the statutory retention periods, such as in the case of a sponsoring membership.

Processor

The Bruckner Alumni Network uses the support of ABPU Employees / Staff members for the administration of the association. In this respect, a processor relationship has been established in terms of Article 28 GDPR and a corresponding contract has been concluded.

Rights of the data subjects

Data subjects have the following rights to obtain from the controller:

  • Right to transparent information (Article 13 and 14 GDPR).
  • Right of access (Article 15 GDPR)
  • Right to rectification (Article 16 GDPR)
  • Right to erasure (Article 17 GDPR)
  • Right to restriction of processing (Article 18 GDPR)
  • Right to object to processing based on legitimate interest as defined in point (e) and (f) of Article 6(1) GDPR (Article 21 GDPR)
  • Right to data portability in case of contractual relationship or consent (Article 20 GDPR)
  • If processing is based on consent in terms of point (a) of Article 6(1) GDPR or point (a) of Article 9(2) GDPR, the data subject has the right to withdraw consent at any time. The withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of the processing carried out on the basis of the consent until the withdrawal.

Data subjects must identify themselves when exercising their data subject rights and contribute to prove their identity to ensure that a response is actually addressed to the data subject.
