Application for the Upper Austrian Opera Studio

Landestheater Linz in cooperation with the Anton Bruckner Private University Linz
The promotion of young talent plays an important role at the Landestheater Linz. The Upper Austrian Opera Studio, founded in 2016 in cooperation with the Anton Bruckner Private University, plays an important role here. The Upper Austrian Opera Studio is Austria's only opera studio with a connection to a university. The aim of the opera studio, headed by Gregor Horres, is to make it easier for young singers to become soloists.
The members of the studio will work on up to three chamber operas each season. Song recitals, concerts, participation in the "Opera at the Piano" series of events and workshops will expand the programme. There is also the opportunity for the young singers to be integrated into the ongoing programme in the main auditorium of the Musiktheater with small and medium roles if they are suitable. The studio members must enrol at the Anton Bruckner Private University, where they will continue their individual training in the music theatre course.

Requirements and restrictions

• The age limit is 32 years.
• German level A2 is required.
• If possible, interested parties should have a Master's degree in singing.
• Please note: We would like to point out that an engagement can only be concluded if "the employee confirms that he/she is currently vaccinated against Covid-19 with an approved vaccine ('full immunisation' in the respective applicable definition) and will also be vaccinated against Covid-19 at the beginning of the contract period. The employee undertakes to always have up-to-date vaccination protection against COVID-19 during the employment relationship and to present a corresponding vaccination certificate to the employer at any time upon request." • a copy of your identity card,
• a recent portrait photo,
• three arias as YouTube links, via SoundCloud or similar platforms, without passwords (one Mozart aria is mandatory, if possible an aria in German). Please no download links. The arias must be easy to access and stream,
• a short text (maximum 2000 characters in German) stating your motivation for your application and your expectations of membership of the Upper Austrian Opera Studio.

The next application for the OÖ. Opera Studio will be possible in autumn 2024. The application is advertised and is only possible via the Landestheater Linz.
