The Anton Bruckner University is one of seven Austrian Universities for Music, Drama and Dance, and one of four universities in Linz. 850 students from all parts of the world study here. They are taught by 200 Professors and teaching staff, who are internationally recognised artists, academics and teachers.
Courses of study, research and performance are offered by the 12 Institutes of the Bruckner University. The following pages give an insight into the various activities of these Institutes.
The Bruckner University sees its role both in artistic, performing, pedogogical and academic education and in the development, promotion and communication of the arts.
The university library of the Anton Bruckner Private University for music, dance and drama is the largest music library in Upper Austria. The inventory runs to over 100,000 items which support and sustain research and teaching at the university. The majority of items are available for borrowing.
With more than 500 events, among them chamber and orchestral concerts, plays, dance and jazz performances and concerts of contemporary music as well as lectures and discussions, the Bruckner University is one of the region's largest organizers and presenters of cultural events.
Das NHZ veranstaltet im Sommer 2024 erstmals die Nikolaus-Harnoncourt-Summer-School „Töne sind höhere Worte“ an seinem Wohnort in St. Georgen im Attergau in Oberösterreich, in unmittelbarer Nähe des Attersees.
Wir bieten ein intensive Workshop-Woche in deutscher oder englischer Sprache. Die DozentInnen sind Erich Höbarth, Milan Turkovic, Stefan Gottfried und Andrea Bischof -führende Mitglieder des Concentus musicus Wien, die die Workshopteilnehmer*innen in die Rhetorik der musikalischen Klangrede einführen, Inhalte vermitteln und ihnen die „Sprachen der Musik“ nahebringen – ein unumgängliches Werkzeug für das Repertoire aus Barock, Klassik und Romantik (bis circa 1850).
Die Arbeit mit Musiker*innen des Concentus musicus ermöglicht den Kursteilnehmer*innen das Erlernen dieser Fähigkeiten aus erster Hand.
Wer: Die Summer School richtet sich an Kammermusik-Ensembles zwischen 2 und 8 Personen mit Vokal- und Instrumentalmusik aus Barock, Klassik und Romantik (bis circa 1850).
Alle Instrumente, moderne und historische, sowie SängerInnen sind herzlich willkommen. Sie sollten sich jedoch im Vorhinein zu einem Ensemble formieren.
Am Ende der Summer School steht ein Workshop-Kammerkonzert aller Teilnehmer*innen am 20. Juli 2024, 16.00 Uhr mit der Präsentation der Ergebnisse und Einblicke in die Werkstatt.
