The Anton Bruckner University is one of seven Austrian Universities for Music, Drama and Dance, and one of four universities in Linz. 850 students from all parts of the world study here. They are taught by 200 Professors and teaching staff, who are internationally recognised artists, academics and teachers.
Courses of study, research and performance are offered by the 12 Institutes of the Bruckner University. The following pages give an insight into the various activities of these Institutes.
The Bruckner University sees its role both in artistic, performing, pedogogical and academic education and in the development, promotion and communication of the arts.
The university library of the Anton Bruckner Private University for music, dance and drama is the largest music library in Upper Austria. The inventory runs to over 100,000 items which support and sustain research and teaching at the university. The majority of items are available for borrowing.
With more than 500 events, among them chamber and orchestral concerts, plays, dance and jazz performances and concerts of contemporary music as well as lectures and discussions, the Bruckner University is one of the region's largest organizers and presenters of cultural events.

Vashti Hunter stellt sich in diesem Konzert als neu ernannte Universitätsprofessorin
für Violoncello an der Anton Bruckner Privatuniversität vor.
Unter dem Titel „Pohádka“, auf Deutsch „Märchen“, präsentiert Vashti Hunter zusammen mit dem Pianisten Noam Greenberg ein abwechslungsreiches Programm mit Werken von Beethoven, Faure und Janacek.
Vashti Hunter ist eine gefragte Solistin und Kammermusikerin und wurde zu wichtigen
Festivals wie Lockenhaus, Ernen, Heidelberger Frühling, Festspiele Mecklenburg-
Vorpommern, Boswiler Sommer und dem Shanghai Chamber Music Festival eingeladen.
Sie hat mit Künstler*innen wie Steven Isserlis, Martha Argerich, Pekka Kuusisto, Nicolas Altstaedt und Vilde Frang zusammengearbeitet und tritt regelmäßig mit ihrem
Klaviertrio, dem Trio Gaspard, in der ganzen Welt auf. Das Ensemble wurde 2010
zusammen mit dem Geiger Jonian Ilias Kadesha und dem Pianisten Nicholas Rimmer
gegründet. Vashti Hunter studierte bei Hatto Beyerle an der European Chamber Music
Academy. Sie ist auch Mitglied des Kelemen String Quartet und wird 2023 alle 6
Bartok-Quartette für das Plattenlabel Alpha aufnehmen. Vashti hat bei internationalen Wettbewerben in Wien, Prag und Weimar Spitzenpreise gewonnen. Sie unterrichtet Cello für Masterstudierende an der Hochschule für Musik Hannover und ist seit Oktober 2022 Professorin für Cello an der Anton Bruckner Privatuniversität in Linz. Sie spielt auf einem Testore-Cello aus dem Jahr 1740, das sie als großzügige Leihgabe erhalten hat.
