Operetta competition

The Institute for Singing and Music Theatre has decided to give more importance to the operetta genre in the training of young singers. In order to make this goal more attractive, a separate operetta competition was launched in 2014.

This operetta competition is aimed specifically at students of the Anton Bruckner Private University and its alumni (up to the age of 35) and is held every other year.

The aim is for students to familiarise themselves with the diverse operetta repertoire and find suitable arias and roles for themselves.

The competition takes place in two rounds. The finalists are judged in a public concert in the Great Hall of the Bruckner University by a prominent jury of artistic directors, conductors and agencies and the winners are chosen.
